About Twin Springs Farm Twin Springs Farm is a 76-acre diversified produce farm located at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in beautiful Nelson County Virginia. We use sustainable farming practices; we do not use harmful herbicides or pesticides. Our growing method includes the use of Cover Crops like Winter Rye and Buckwheat. We use Compost, Alfalfa Meal, Trace Minerals & Micronutrients as soil amendments. The result is nutrient dense produce that has a sweet intense taste. That sweetness is especially noticeable in our Carrots. We grow Blueberries and Produce during the summer growing season. We grow Beets, Carrots, Lettuce, Spinach, Kale, and assorted greens during the off-season months in our High Tunnels. We do not heat our tunnels. We rely on using cold tolerant varieties, and row covers. Our processes are based on what we learned from other small sustainable growers. We have been members of the Virginia Association of Biological Famers (VABF) where we learned from other growers and passed along our experience.
