Skylight Farmsis a family-owned and operated farm nestled in the Cathcart Valley in Snohomish, Washington. We use sustainable and ecological practices, and are passionate about growing delicious food for our community. We grow a wide array of vegetables, a little bit of fruit, and some herbs. Sustainably grown from the heart The inherent appeal of running a small farm lies in the opportunity to be good stewards of the land. Farming is an intricate process that requires favorable weather conditions and even a little bit of good luck, buthowwe farm is completely up to us. We strive to have a minimal impact on the land and enrich the soil year after year. Our soil is the single most important element on the farm. We build its health naturally by planting cover crops, using compost and mulch, and letting it rest. We manage pests and disease through sustainable and ecological practices such as fabric row cover and crop rotation, and have made our peace with the critters that take a bite out of our production during any given season. We never use chemical sprays and only plant non-GMO seeds. In 2022 we said goodbye to our chickens and no longer produce eggs. Visit us on Saturdays 10 AM – 2 PM Pre-orders can be picked up on Saturday, November 23rd from 10 AM – 2 PM.
Skylight Farms, situated on the banks of the beautiful Snohomish River, was started by Jonathan and Petrina Fisher in late 2012. In the search to do something meaningful, we left our desk jobs and decided to grow the kind of food that should be on every table. Sustainable. Ecological. Ethical. Our food is grown with a commitment to preserving our natural environment and enhancing our community. Since we started, we have experienced all the woes and joys that a farm can bring. From our well running dry and an 80 foot tree falling on our power lines to securing our first sales and seeing our food on the menus of restaurants. There is nothing quite as empowering and humbling as growing your own food. We hope to inspire more people to eat with the seasons and support our local food economy. Follow us on Facebookor Instagram. Skylight Farms is proud to provide food to some of the most vulnerable members of our community through our partnership with Farms for Life.
