If you had asked us a few decades ago if we’d be doing what we do now, we simply would’ve looked at you and laughed. Mark didn’t grow up around farming, and I (Amy) did, but wasn’t really ever involved in a day to day farm routine. Fast forward to 2010, when our first son was diagnosed with childhood asthma. When they wanted to load him up with two inhalers and multiple management medications, we knew there had to be a better way. This allowed us to enter into a whole new world—homesteading and natural living. “Sowrighteousnessfor yourselves, reap thefruitof unfailinglove, and break up yourunplowed ground; for it is time toseek the Lord, until he comes and showers hisrighteousnesson you.” In 2016 we started Homesteaders of America, and in 2017 we had our very first Homesteaders of America (Ho A) event. We love teaching others to homestead, and creating a homesteading community around us. We truly believe in creating an agrarian society. One that is unshakable, unwavering, and productive. And so, we’re so happy to be a major part in that community building as well, but now as an extension of our farming, as Refuge of Liberty Farm. We believe in real food, real freedom, real community, and the Creator who created us all. We believe in living a simple and quiet life. We believe in faith over fear. We believe in radical homesteading—and we’re happy you’re on this journey with us! Whether it’s providing food for you and your family, or helping you learn how to grow your own! We’re here for all of it. Check out our page about “The Farm” to learn about our regular farm practices and beliefs. You need to know what's available—make sure you subscribe! Mark and Amy didn't envision farming decades ago. In 2010, their son's asthma diagnosis led them to homesteading and natural living. They started Homesteaders of America in 2016 and held their first event in 2017, teaching others to homestead. Refuge of Liberty Farm is an extension of their mission to build an agrarian society, providing real food and fostering community.
