Alabama Acres

Our family moved from Las Vegas, NV to the middle of rural Alabama in 2013. Our quest was to build a farm that produces food that heals our bodies. We strive to mimic nature. If pigs are meant to rut and graze and play in the mud...ours do! If tomatoes are meant to be ripened on the vine and kept pesticide-free, ours are! All of our animals are raised on pasture — they graze and forage munching on grass, leaves, flowers and whatever else suits their fancy. We supplement twice per day with a high-protein feed. No growth hormones, steroids, or antibiotics ever. We also run an aquaponics system where tilapia and plants help each other grow. Are we perfect? Nah. But we are learning, growing, and improving every single day. It's a long journey full of mistakes, backaches, and heartache, but there's no place we'd rather be than this quaint family farm near Birmingham, AL.
