Our animals live outside on pasture, just as God designed, which means food that’s rich in nutrients and raised with nature in mind. We also share easy, step-by-step recipes so you can get dinner on the table without stress— even on busy week nights or work-from-home days. We believe good food supports more than just your body. It supports your family’s time together, your energy, and your peace of mind. Many of our customers come to us because they’re tired, overwhelmed, or dealing with health struggles — and they’ve noticed how much better they feel when they eat real food they can trust. We’re Joe & Rachel Shenk, a family raising food for families like yours. Our kids help on the farm, our animals are raised with respect, and our goal is simple: to serve our community with honest food that helps you care for the people you love most. We started our farm back in 2017 to work together as a family & provide something meaningful to our community. We’d be honored to be your farmers. We responsibly raise and care for all of our animals as naturally as possible which means we prioritize the health of our animals, their safety, minimizing stress, and encouraging their natural habits. Chickens love to peck in the grass & search for bugs, cattle & sheep graze grass and pigs root. Our animals are raised 100% outside, being moved frequently through our pastures and woods, honoring the needs of the animals & the land. Our chickens & pigs enjoy a non-GMO feed in addition to what they can forage. Our cattle and sheep enjoy the seasonal grasses in the pasture. We don’t use antibiotics unless an animals life is on the line. The only animals that receive vaccinations are our laying hens prior to coming to our farm. We strive to mimic nature and create balance in all that we do. When we manage our animals well, it encourages healthier soil, which in turn encourages healthier grasses and forages, which in turn encourages healthier populations of insects, field mice, birds and farm animals. And all of this plays a huge role in producing quality nutrient dense meats that nourish our bodies. We believe that the primary way we can serve our community well is to provide high quality proteins in both taste and nutrition. Animals raised on pasture have been shown to produce meat & eggs higher in vitamins, with more balanced levels of omega fatty acids and lower in cholesterol & saturated fat, as well as a greatly reduced risk of food-borne illnesses. Additionally, we have made the conscious choice to sell our products directly to people in our local community to encourage transparency, personal relationships, and easily receive feedback, both positive and negative. Put simply, we need to know our community to serve our community. Finally, the hope for our farm is that it would not only be a business, but more so it would grow to be a place where friends, customers, and neighbors can enjoy themselves by hanging out, getting their hands dirty doing some chores, or sharing a meal together.
