Riverview Farms’ Atlanta Produce CSA delivers up to 30 weeks of organic and sustainably grown produce to pickup locations throughout Atlanta. Each week, we pack each CSA box with 7 to 12 different types of seasonal produce. Cool weather crops rule the Spring: fluffy lettuce heads, tender greens, and crisp radishes. Summer is peak time for squash, tomatoes, garlic, sweet corn, melons, okra and more. Fall harvests transition to hearty green s, apples, winter squash, root vegetables, and our freshly harvested heirloom grits & cornmeal. We’ve got this CSA thing dialed — we’ve been growing, packing & delivering good value for over 20 years! We’ve been so delighted and can’t wait to see what else comes our way throughout the growing season.” “My husband, who sometimes grumbles at things like winter squash and who hates beets, said tonight that he is missing the vegetable CSA already. I was trying to make a reasonable salad out of trader joes romaine lettuce hearts, which really resemble iceberg lettuce, and he confessed that going back to the old menus wasn’t nearly as interesting as what we were eating when I was trying to figure out what to do with something I have never cooked before. Or that came in large quantities that week. Luckily I have lots of CSA produce put away in the freezer (particularly lots of collards).” “I want to thank you. I’ve gotten all three sessions this year and have never felt healthier and more creative. I can barely look at processed food after eating so well this summer and fall. We are also eating at home more, cos there’s always something that NEEDS to be eaten or we will lose it. I’ve gotten back to my Southern roots, channeling all my grandmothers’ favorite dishes and have truly come to understand the Southern table. It’s been a delight all season. Thank YOU!” “Tonight we made the most delicious side from our CSA loot: sautéed sprouts (with some of the delicious onions from previous weeks), with pickled beets (homemade) and feta. It was amazing! Thank you for helping my family eat seasonal, healthy food.” Join our produce CSAat any point. We prorate the amount due based on your start date.
We grow delicious organic produce, heritage breed pork, grassfed beef, and heirloom grains that we gently grind into grits, cornmeal, and polenta. Nestled into a crook of the Coosawattee River, Riverview Farms has been our family’s stewardship since the 1970s. We were certified organic in 2000. Today, we operate our farm as a closed-loop ecosystem using methods that exceed organic standards. The vitality of our soil is the bottom line for every farming decision we make. We use natural cycles to increase the fertility of our farm’s soil over time cycling through cover cropping, leveraging crop diversity, composting waste from our animals, and relying on rotational grazing of pasture and forest. Our animals happily roam in the fresh air of the pastures, forests, and swamps of their home, every day. All of our animals are bred, born, and raised on the farm. Unusual for a farm our size, we grow everything our animals eat from feed crops, to pastures, forests, and non-sellable-but-delicious-to-them veggies. Thanks to their manure, our fields are fertilized with rich organic compost. We feed thousands of families wholesome delicious food, without overreaching the capacity and sapping the life from our land. We cultivate direct relationships with the families who eat our produce, meats, and grains. They subscribe to our monthly meat and weekly produce CSAs, visit us at farmers markets and on our mobile market truck called Farm Mobile. They enjoy supporting their local food economy, and synchronizing their diets seasonally. Butchers, farm hands, builders, farmers, distillers: Our farming builds rural wealth instead of exporting it to some distant balance sheet. As one of the largest and oldest certified organic farms in Georgia, we’ve mentored and tutored newer farmers like Benji Anderson of Anderson Farms. And we use our established distribution network to sell organic and sustainably grown products for other farms and local food enterprises, establishing more successful new farms and artisan food businesses. We’ve been there from before the beginning of the modern local food “movement”, serving on the boards of Georgia Organics, Slow Food Atlanta, and Community Farmers Markets. Speaking at conferences. Holding workshops and farm field days for our customers and other growers. Starting Farm Mobile—the first mobile farmers market truck in the Southeast—and helping to start the Grant Park and Freedom Farmers Markets. Living in harmony with the cycles of nature and the communities that we feed, the quality and flavor of our food tells the Riverview Farms story. One bite and you’ll know the difference that full-circle farming makes. And that Good Goes Around. Want the inside scoop on what’s going on at our farm? Sign up for our enewsletter.
