Just a short drive outside of Brodhead is a beautiful rustic road that winds along hillsides and forest near Decatur Lake. Along this road, nestled between a forest of trees, you'll find a small farm carved into a hillside. Welcome to Regeneration Farm!We are a small hard-working family farm growing a broad range of top-quality, Certified Naturally Grown produce, all year-round. Our Address is N3909 Park Rd, Brodhead, WI 53520 We grow on about 1-1/2 acres of land (total land area of 12+ acres available for future expansion). We specialize in growing microgreens and salad greens but we also grow a much broader range of vegetables in the summer which is sold through several Farmer's Markets in and around Madison, WI. All of our produce is grown in the soil using non-GMO seed and organic techniques as well as regenerative practices which replenish the nutrients in the soil rather than depleting it like conventional farming does. We use minimal tillage and never use any harmful chemicals in the growing of our produce. We have a 10,000 square foot greenhouse that allows us to grow through the winter with little, if any, heat using deep-winter organic growing techniques. We grow a variety of cold tolerant crops including microgreens (in our climate controlled grow room), lettuce, spinach, arugula, kale, chard, Bok Choy, tatsoi, and several other veggies. We also like to grow a crop of super early carrots which grow slowly through the winter and become super sweet! These make an amazing Spring treat. Our farm was founded at the beginning of the Covid outbreak in 2020 and has grown steadily ever since. What began as a dream of a hobby farm and a way to add a small amount of yearly income turned into a full-time business during the pandemic - a time that our other business of 16 years (at that time) had nearly been shut down due to the stay-at-home orders. With little Market Gardening experience but much drive to learn, we invested in training from several highly successful farmers from around the country who have shared their experience for others to learn from through online courses, books, and agricultural magazines. From these humble beginnings we've worked hard to build the necessary infrastructure and learn the necessary skills to make a successful farm. Regeneration Farm is now our primary source of income and we continue to build it into an efficient, profitable farm that will last for many years to come. Scott & Jenny Turkelson are passionate about growing your food to the best of their abilities. Their twins, Will and Emma, have even found they enjoy working on the farm too. Scott comes from a long line of farmers including his Uncle who farms just down the road, and his Grandparents who used to own the land they now farm on. Scott's interest in Market Garden-style farming stemmed from watching his Mom garden when he was younger. He helped where he could, but his interest in the intensive-style gardening that Market Gardening requires didn't come along until much later in life. Scott has run a successful telecommunications business for over 20 years now, but the farm has definitely taken precedence over the last few years. Scott feels the farm is a culmination of many skills and interests he's developed over his 50+ years and so has found the farm to be enjoyable to operate, in spite of the hard work it entails. Jenny grew up a Pastor's daughter and always desired to be a wife and mother. After fulfilling both dreams and even homeschooling their kids, she has found she really enjoys working on the farm too. This is a bit surprising to those that know her since she never wanted anything to do with a farm (much less dirt or the outdoors) when she was younger! She has not only gained a great deal of experience farming since they began but now oversees all of the packing and sales for the farm. She also helps harvesting microgreens and seeding crops to go out into the field. Both Scott and Jenny are believers in Christ as their Savior
