About Peace Tree Parks

Peace Tree Parks Non-Profit Organization is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization that was founded in 2015 with the mission to increase the access that Metro Detroit residents have to fresh organic produce by converting vacant land into community gardens. We use our community gardens as a path to demonstrate and educate residents about gardening with the goal of encouraging students/residents to begin gardening themselves.

Our Story

Peace Tree Parks Non-Profit Organization was founded in 2015 with the mission to increase the access that Metro Detroit residents have to fresh organic produce by converting vacant land into community gardens. They have converted 11 vacant lots in Detroit into community spaces and installed 113 residential gardens across Metro Detroit since 2016. Over 1,000 lbs of organic produce have been donated back to the community since 2016.
