Family owned and operated since 2013 We fell in love with the community, wildlife, and fishing of Cook Inlet, Alaska 40+ years ago. We'll Never Forget the First Day on the Water Hooking the Initial Line in Alaska At age 19, Clint spent his first summer in Alaska as a fishing boat deckhand. This is where he first fell in love with the land, people, food, wildlife, and traditions of the Cook Inlet. The Dawn of the “Skiff Man” Entrepreneur Clint saw an opportunity to help fishers rest, save time, and generate more volume by picking up the incoming fish in a smaller boat and bringing them into the harbor lines, also known as Skiff Tendering. This earned Clint the nickname “Skiff Man” among local fishers. A Growing Seasonal Community Growing a business operation, community, and passion for Alaska fishing, Clint invited his friend and eventual brother-in-law, Mike Schwab, to join him for a summer Skiff Tendering. The relationships forged at this time laid the groundwork for Kenai-Red today. A Return to Passion, Community & Family Leaving a corporate career in capital investment, Clint and his daughter Allison founded Kenai-Red Fish Company to share their love of Alaskan fish with Portland, OR and beyond, bringing healthier, more sustainable options to tables. Scaling an Epic Family Fishing Adventure As the business expanded nationwide, the family acquired its property and processing plant in Alaska. Mike joined as General Manager, and Clint’s second daughter Rachel Sullivan joined as Finance and Payroll Manager for 12+ team members. Making Sustainable Seafood Accessible Kenai-Red brought their wild-caught Salmon to venues like New Seasons, Sitka Seafood Market, local farmers markets, partner events, and their very own online market, broadening access to healthy, high-quality seafood.
