To do this, Planned Parenthood of the Rochester/Syracuse Region provides health care, education, counseling, and leadership in preserving the right to reproductive freedom. Special emphasis is given to women who have limited access to services. Our Vision Planned Parenthood of the Rochester/Syracuse Region is recognized as a leader in building strong families and ensuring that all people have the right to make choices based on their own moral standards. It is the most trusted and reliable source for service and information regarding sexuality and reproductive health. Few organizations have improved and empowered as many lives as Planned Parenthood. But as valuable as our past efforts have been, we know that our work is not done. In truth, it may have just begun. Our Services*Planned Parenthood of the Rochester/Syracuse Region provides a wide range of women's reproductive health care, including:Health Services Gynecological exams Birth Control Breast Exams Pregnancy Testing HIV/AIDS testing Medication Abortionand Surgical Abortion Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI)Testingandmore Emergency Contraception- Popularly known as the "Morning After Pill," Emergency Contraception prevents pregnancy up to 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected intercourse Community Education- Workshops and Training in Human Sexuality for Schools, Agencies and Community Groups. Counseling Services Family Planning Counseling Pregnancy Options Counselingincluding Parenting, Abortion & Adoption Options HIV Pre- and Post- Test Counselingandmore Rape Crisis Services- providing crisis intervention and support to women, children, and men who are victims of sexual assault, and their significant others. Trained counselors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Services are provided in Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, and Orleans counties. IN-CONTROL- IN-CONTROL is a unique program linking reproductive health care, community education, and comprehensive neighborhood outreach in order to reduce teen pregnancy rates in the southwest and northeast areas of the City of Rochester. It is a collaboration of three community agencies, Planned Parenthood of the Rochester/Syracuse Region, the Urban League of Rochester, New York; and Baden Street Settlement, Inc. All IN-CONTROL programs are free of charge. Medicaid Family Planning Services and Medicaid Family Planning Extension Program- Free family planning services for Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care participants, and for women no longer eligible for Medicaid who had full Medicaid, PCAP, or MOMS coverage when their pregnancy ended.*Note:Services and hours vary by location.
