Eco-Gardens Farm is a small family farm in Southern Kentucky owned and operated by brothers Andrew and Reuben Habegger and our children. Our family has been farming for centuries. As a matter of fact, we can trace our farming roots to a homestead in Canton Bern, Switzerland, owned by a Habegger in 1540 and the last we heard still owned and operated by a Habegger. As Old Order Mennonites in the Scottsville, KY community, weuse only horsepower to till the soil. Our family has worked the current family homestead for 41 years. Andrew has been farming free of all synthetic chemicals since 2004. The first fields of the family farm were certified organic in 2006. Currently not certified, some years we go through the government certification process with the extensive paperwork requirements, and some we don't. However, we ALWAYS farm in a manner that is certifiable and sustainable, free of all synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides. We believe healthy food comes from healthy soil, and eating healthy food makes healthy people. More and more we incorporate No-Till methods. Our vision is to grow healthy food that we market directly to the consumer. Our first year to offer a CSA was 2005. We've been delivering to Nashville since 2006. Each week we endeavor to over-fill your box with a plethora of different varieties. If you have friends that would appreciate what we offer, we would feel blessed if you would share this. Andrew discusses farming methods and farm happenings in weekly hand-written Eco-Gardens CSA newsletters and welcomes questions from CSA members. Be the first to know about our offerings, discounts, farm news, and much more! Have questions? We have answers! eco-gardenscsa@att.net 615-331-0104
