Back 4T Farms is a real place, real ranch, with a real family behind it. It all started in 2012 after the birth of their third daughter, Madeline. Laura was diagnosed with Hashimotos Hypothyroidism, an autoimmune condition. After many hardships and wrong diagnosis' Laura found a functional medicine practitioner that gave her some hope. It was there that she found the need to heal her gut and get her life back on track. She realized that eating this new way was quite the challenge. Most of the food at the grocery store was not what it was advertised to be and sourcing local, organic, pastured meats was difficult, to say the least. That led Jim and Laura to raising their own food, how they wanted it grown. They wanted to make the land healthier, animals to not be confined to small spaces, and wanted the animals to choose which forage was best for them to eat. Just as humans choose what food they want to eat, animals should be given that choice as well and that's exactly what we strive to do. Our pigs and chickens are given a ration of soy free, corn free organic feed everyday but are encouraged to browse and get most of their nutrition from the provided organic pastures. Jim and Laura are very thankful for the opportunity to do what they do and hope that you find their meats to be superior in quality and taste. Have questions? Just ask, we'll be glad to answer.
