Founders Bobby & Derravia Rich created Black Seeds Urban Farms with a core mission to bring people together for a healthier lifestyle and to redefine purpose through people and the planet. They are committed to transforming the culture of Memphis and beyond by planting seeds literally and figuratively, believing Black Seeds is a catalyst for change offering a sustainable solution to the lack of access to healthy food options in under-resourced communities. The farm was created for the love of the community, with its root word 'commune' in mind and heart, and officially founded in 2020. Their son, Khoi, is also part of the founding family. Gardens not only provide fruits and vegetables but also cultivate healing through collective gatherings and collaboration. They believe people need fresh food and they just want to grow it. The farm is located in the Greenlaw community of Uptown Memphis and was founded in 2020. The founders are Bobby and Derravia Rich, along with their son Khoi.
