Spring of 2023 was full of gorgeous specialty tulips and daffodils, ranunculus, African starflower, Hyacinth, dogwood, flowering peach, and woody branches. The best in performance this spring goes to the African Starflowers for its lasting power and pure white perfection. We were especially impressed with the peony style tulips, which will definitely be making a comeback in 2024. Speaking of which, we have already placed our order for fall of 2023 and in that order we have planned for 6 new anemone varieties including Carmel, Galilee Blue and pastel (so pretty!), Marianne Panda, Mistral Pandora, the Bride, and De Caen green mix. We are also upping our Ranunculus supply with 12 new varieties which include colors in chocolate, peach, light pink, coral, brown, pastel, and festival orange. With Spring in the rearview, the ranunculus have been stored until fall and the summer crops are continuously going into beds. The Zinnias are just opening, Sunflowers have been available since April and more are being harvested each week, the Cotton Candy Yarrow are just about to flower as is our Feverfew. The Giant Poppy Pods are coming along fabulously, as is the Sweet William, Bupleurum, and Lisianthus. We do have light pink Chabaud carnations, but they are on the short side and we hope this will change as the season progresses. The background players this season will be artemesia (Sweet anne), Cosmos, Bachelors Buttons, Echinacea, Sweet peas (while they hold out to the the heat), Basil, Japanese Maple, Ageratum, Gomphrena, Astilbe, Phlox, and Roses (new this year). Oh, and all of the Dahlias are sprouting up at the moment!
