The City of Clemson Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency within City limits. The Uniform Patrol Division is comprised of trained uniform officers that respond to emergency and nonemergency calls and provides direct police services to the public. The Support Services division includes officers who specialize in investigations, narcotics investigation, and forensics and evidence. This division also includes school resource officers as well as employees who work in communications, records, and victims services. These individuals are committed to working within the community, using innovative technologies, and obtaining skills to solve crimes efficiently and effectively to provide a safe and enjoyable environment while endeavoring to maintain the trust of the community. The Clemson Police Department is budgeted for fifty-one (51) full time employees. Of this number, thirty-nine (39) positions are for certified police officers. Nine (9) positions are certified detention officers that also hold the position of dispatcher. There is one administrative assistant, one records clerk, and one victim advocate.
