Such and Such Farm is a 120-acre homestead near DeSoto, MO specializing in sustainably grown produce, responsibly raised animals, and other cool stuff. They are the only "custom/boutique farm" in the St. Louis area, growing unique heirloom produce and raising heritage animals specifically for chefs.
Dave and Autumn started Such and Such Farm in 2011 with no prior farming experience, driven by a dream of a better life. Dave's background in construction and industrial design, combined with Autumn's experience with plants and animals, allowed them to design and build their farm systems as a true DIY project. With the help of friends, mentors, and crew, they've grown into a unique "custom/boutique farm" in the St. Louis area, specializing in heirloom produce and heritage animals for chefs, and offering products at farmers markets and through their CSA. They also offer farm stays and events on their farm by appointment only. They pride themselves on being part of the Known and Grown farmer network, ensuring healthy and happy local products through sustainable practices and natural remedies, avoiding synthetic chemicals unless absolutely necessary for crop survival. They do not use antibiotics in the way CAFO operations do, as their pigs are raised outside on pasture and receive individual attention, but will administer medicine if an animal gets sick. They are not USDA Organic, believing the certification to be a "racket."
