Order products for market pick uphere! No Till – All Natural Seasonal Veggies On our farm, we work our gardens a little different than what you’re probably used to. As a regenerative farm, we are 100% committed to soil health, biodiversity, carbon sequestration and nutrient density. This means we often do things the harder, more labor intensive way because it’s the right way. Instead of using equipment like tractors and tillers in our gardens, we focus our attention to not disturbing the soil and instead layering compost and mulching and other natural amendments to meet the highest level of environmental standards AND nutrient density for you. No harmful chemicals, no synthetic fertilizers and a product that truly leaves the land in a better state than when we started. Cut flowers are a natural part of our offering as they offer pollinator and trap crop support for our no till gardens. We grow our flowers the same way we grow our veggies using all no till methods. Our flowers are sprinkled throughout our gardens to work in harmony with nature giving pollinator support and even working as a pest deterrent. On our farm you’ll find both annual flowers in our gardens and perennial options around the farm as well. Flowers are usually in season from about April to November. Forest Raised – Chicken – Supplemented with Certified Organic Grains Only If you’re looking for the most natural chicken available in the Lowcountry, it doesn’t get closer to nature than ours! Our chickens are raised completely outside, without the use of coops or man made structures, spending their life foraging through forest and pasture spaces, beneath our fruit tress and napping under the canopy of the trees during the hottest parts of the day. We raise Freedom Rangers which are not like the Cornish Cross Chickens you are probably used to. Our chickens are older than your typical chicken at harvest, but that additional time on silvopasture makes for some of the most nutrient dense poultry you’ll ever get your hands on. We also do not free feed our poultry like most farms. Our chickens are only allotted a small amount of feed each day, fed at breakfast, lunch and dinner as opposed to being able to stand around at feeders all day. They spend most of their time foraging bugs, seeds and greens in our forest systems. We use only certified organic grain supplementation for our chickens which is beyond even non-GMO or GMO-free. A key part of our silvopasture creation on our farm are our pigs. Our pigs move through forest systems helping to clear timber to open up the tree canopy to let sunlight into the forest floor to allow for native and annual forages. Our pigs spend their days rooting through leaf litter, finding seeds, nuts, roots, tubers and bugs. As they move through the forests lightly tilling through their rooting, they awaken dormant native seeds from the seed banks, helping the forests come back to life after they are rotated off. After the pigs move through and sections go on rest, we can later move chickens and cattle through. Our pigs are supplemented with natural grains including distillers and brewers grain from local breweries and distilleries. We are proud to be able to offer regular pork options as well as specialty options from a butcher we travel all the way to Pennsylvania for.
