Freedom Acres Farm is a small, family-operated farm in Durant, OK, producing pasture-raised beef, pork, and eggs, as well as regeneratively-grown vegetables and fruit. They believe in transparency, allowing customers to know what they are eating, where it was grown, how it was grown, and who grew it. Their goal is to produce the tastiest food from the healthiest soil, harvested at the peak of nutrition, and consumed by their community.
Evan and Sarah Rowland, both raised on small farms, returned to Oklahoma in 2011 to start their own farm in Clarita, raising kids, cows, vegetables, fruits, chickens, and hogs. In early 2018, they moved to a new farm east of Durant to be closer to family. They transitioned from traditional cattle farming to a diversified, natural approach, focusing on improving soil health and animal welfare, and began selling produce at farmers markets in 2013. Since 2016, their beef herd has been antibiotic and grain-free, and they've used non-GMO grains for poultry and hogs, and chemical-free soil fertility practices since 2018.
