Diversified Family Farm
Real Food. Real Farmers. Real Community.
The Farm Connection exists to solve a simple but growing problem: families want real food they can trust, and independent farmers deserve a fair, sustainable way to reach them. Founded in 2015, The Farm Connection was the original membership based food club in the San Antonio area. What began as a small local effort has grown into one of the largest community-based food networks in our region, serving thousands of families each week. We operate as a membership based food club, giving members collective access to high quality, responsibly sourced food you can feel good about serving your family. This is not a grocery store. It is a curated food network built around trust, quality, and local agriculture. Why I Started The Farm Connection Having been born and raised in San Diego, I was always aware of the movement toward a healthy, organic lifestyle. In 2008, when I found out I was pregnant, that interest became deeply personal. What I put into my body was no longer just about me. One article led to another, and soon much of my free time was dedicated to understanding how to give my child the healthiest possible start in a world increasingly filled with chemicals and processed foods. My husband, son, and I moved to San Antonio in 2010, and one of my first stops was a local farm to find real milk. Wanting to connect with other like-minded families, I organized a local Meet-Up group called Toxin-Free, Organic Moms. What began as a way to build friendships quickly evolved into something much bigger. Our group started coordinating farm pickups together and purchasing locally raised meats in bulk. Before long, I was organizing weekly deliveries directly to my garage, where members picked up their pre-ordered items from labeled coolers. As demand grew, it became clear that this could no longer operate informally. We formalized the concept into an official buying club, building systems to support consistent sourcing, food safety, and reliable weekly fulfillment. From Small Beginning to Growing Community The original Farm Connection location opened in September 2015, and the membership has grown steadily ever since. What began with roughly 135 families has expanded into a community of over 5,000 families today, driven largely by member referrals and shared trust in our standards. We love our life in Texas, and I remain deeply passionate about supporting the local economy while reducing our collective environmental footprint. The Farm Connection community has been incredibly supportive, and I feel fortunate to work alongside so many families who care deeply about what they feed their families. Through years of research, trial, and real-world experience, I've identified what I believe to be the best of what San Antonio and Texas have to offer in responsibly sourced food and thoughtfully selected products. Equally important, a genuine community has formed around great nutrition, great taste, and shared values. Watching our members and their children grow alongside this community continues to be one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. Make high-quality local food accessible to all families in our community. Protect and support small farms and independent producers. Maintain food choice, transparency, and sustainability in our food system. Build local food systems and community resilience for future generations. We never compromise on the quality of products we offer. Every item meets our strict standards for responsible sourcing. Know exactly where your food comes from. We maintain direct relationships with all our farmers and producers. We're more than a food club—we're a community of families committed to supporting local agriculture.
