Walk-About Acres is a small, diversified farm with a big emphasis on honeybees. Run by Vera and Art Gelder on 6800 North Kircher Road in Columbia, Missouri, the farm featured cage-free chickens laying green eggs, heritage breed Missouri Mulefoot hogs, goats, and emus. Visitors could enjoy walking tours, the Busy Buzzy Bee classroom, Papa's Store with beekeeping supplies, and Nana's Kitchen with honey ice cream. The Gelders supplied honey ice cream to HyVee stores and the Missouri State Fair for years. Note: Art and Vera retired from farming in 2013; the farm website is no longer active.
