In 2001 Randy and Beth purchased land in Greene County, North Carolina with the goal to raise cattle and children. Garrett and Colleen developed a passion for cattle by doing daily farm chores and showing nationally. Their involvement with local, state, and national agriculture organizations has reinforced our desire as a family to raise beef cattle. Our focus on show cattle has now turned into a commercial beef cattle operation. We pride ourselves in high performing genetics and meat quality. Our beef is pasture raised, all natural, and no added hormones. Garrett and Colleen are now back in the area and reconnecting their desire to raise cattle and work together as a family. We strive to raise, care for, and provide quality meat to our customers. We look forward to serving you! They are our live in Veterinarian and bookkeeper. They both keep up with daily farm chores, breeding, feeding, and maintaining the herd. Randy was born and raised in Western North Carolina with an agriculture background. He graduated undergrad and vet school from NC State University and moved to Kinston in 1985 to start practicing. Beth was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina but was brought up in the funeral home business. She graduated from Campbell University and moved to Kinston in 1985 as a county health inspector. Beth and Randy made it a goal to one day own a farm and raise children around agriculture. Their dream came true in 2001. They have owned and operated Livestock Veterinary Services for the past 30 years. On the side they started Wheat Swamp Angus, 25 years ago, to instill work ethic and their passion for agriculture in Garrett and Colleen. In their free time you will find them pulling on the Wolfpack, working on the farm, and hanging with their beloved Boston Terrier, George. Colleen is the person you are communicating with on social media and coordinating pick up/drop offs with. She keeps inventory, marketing, social media, and the website rolling. Colleen’s passion for agriculture started at a young age, showing livestock on a county/state level and growing to show cattle all over the United States. She continued her passion by pursuing an Agriculture Business Management degree from NC State University and remains in the Animal Health pharmaceutical world today. She lives in Kinston, NC with her corgi, Fannnie. Garrett is our full time farmer. He truly makes it all happen everyday. Our high quality beef is the result of his passion for animal husbandry. In his free time you'll find him fishing, duck hunting, hanging with Chelsey, Wade and their two sidekicks, Flo and Pearl.
