Thompson Prawn Farm

Joe Thompson and his wife Geraldine invite you to their twelfth annual prawn harvest. Prawns are actually giant freshwater Malaysian shrimp. Although similar to shrimp grown in the United States, they have a naturally sweet, buttery taste and are prized by chefs at high-end restaurants. Harvest is last Friday of September. People who would like to watch the harvest should arrive at the pond by 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM. Prawns will be for sale starting at 11:00 AM the day of harvest.
