We are Jane Saiers (Farmer J) and Darin Knapp (Farmer D) of Ramble Rill Farm, which lies on 28 acres of fields and forest in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Established in 2010, the farm is named for the rill that crisscrosses the land and feeds New Hope Creek. Wegrow organic fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, and herbs; raise laying hens and goats; andwelcome visitors to the farm for nature-based experiences and community events. Ramble Rill Farm is also the host site of the Longleaf Forest School, which offers nature-based learning for young people. Our farming ethos is reflected in the words of Kentucky farmer and author Wendell Berry:"The care of the earth is our most ancient and worthy, and after all, our most pleasing responsibility. To cherish what remains of it and to foster its renewal is our only...hope."
