McGuire Family Farms

McGuire Family Farms was established in 1992 when Brian and Theresa got married. Both Brian and Theresa grew up in German Township, with Theresa on a dairy farm and Brian with a desire to farm. In Brian’s teenage years, he worked for several farmers in the area, including Theresa’s family. Brian got his start farming on his own in high school with 10 acres of hay for a FFA project. In 1996, they were able to purchase 60 acres of Theresa’s grandfather’s farm and began raising beef cattle, thus returning livestock back to the farm. Their kids, Monique & Niles, make the 5th generation that grew up on the farm. Monique and her husband, Josh Michael, have 2 sons Gabriel and Elijah. They have their own farm in Hillsboro, Ohio and help whenever possible. Niles and his wife, Lindsay, are expecting a little girl in July of 2020. In 2017, Niles had the opportunity to purchase the farm Theresa grew up on. Since then, Niles and his family have partnered with McGuire Family Farms. McGuire Family Farms is a sustainable farm that takes pride in preserving the land and resources. Rotational grazing helps with both animal and pasture health. Crop rotation, no-till practices, and planting cover crops help build soil health, prevent soil erosion, and help limit resources required for a successful crop. These are some of the practices we utilize to help insure sustainability for future generations. Our cattle are Angus-Hereford based cross breeds. Our pigs are purchased from local producers as feeders and fed to finish here on our farm. Our chickens are cornish cross bred for meat production. All the animals on our farm are humanely raised, all natural, with no antibiotics, or growth hormones. The items in our store are the same items used in our family’s kitchen. Niles’s wife, Lindsey, will soon be putting her expertise to work for the farm in greenhouse production, adding vegetables and possibly flowers. We are just beginning to explore the possibilities.
