Diversified Family Farm since 1997
Self-reported practices. This farm has provided information about their practices, but they have not yet been independently verified by Bhumi.
Our farming strategy is based on a soil building principal called “Management Intensive Grazing” (MIG). Instead of turning our cows onto all the pasture at once we fence off a portion and let the cows graze that then move them off and fence the chickens on that portion. We pride ourselves in home made, naturally grown meats, focusing on nutrition, health and respect for the earth.
Jolly Barnyard is a small, family farm that started in 2009 in a backyard (3 acres), expanded to a 38-acre farm in 2010, and has been operating on a 300-acre leased farm since 2012. On March 26th, 2020, they purchased their own 94-acre family farm in Lewisburg, KY, driven by a quest for self-sustainability and a desire to provide healthy, sustainable options to the community.
