The Schnadts are 4th and 5th generation farmers who started Heartland Craft Grains by pondering if corn could be grown for flavor. This led them to select grains with a reputation for flavor and focus on farm practices that create healthier soil, growing nutrient-dense and flavorful grains. They take pride in transforming their grains into delicious and nutritious ingredients from their family to yours, operating a farmstead mill in Lodi, WI. The farm is also partnering with Grown Climate Smart to scale regenerative agriculture and expand the visibility and viability of regenerative grain production in Wisconsin and beyond, with a new logo being incorporated into retail packaging as of September 2025. They are also a Something Special from Wisconsin partner, ensuring at least 50 percent of their product's value is attributable to Wisconsin ingredients, production, or processing activities. Rochelle was a previous Alice in Dairyland and promoted other SS f W companies and products. Evan is from Iowa, the only thing not 100% Wisconsin. The farm is dedicated to delivering freshly milled, flavorful and nutritious grains. They also offer gift bundles and classes, such as an Artisan Sourdough Class. The program logo provides a quick and reliable way to identify genuine Wisconsin products and services at grocery stores, retail outlets, farmers' markets and restaurants throughout the state, and beyond!
