Garfield Honey Company is abeekeeping operation, makers of artisan hive products local to central Indiana, and advocates for pollinator populations. We work to help the bees and help people enjoy what the bees produce. We believe that locally produced goods by small businesses are vital to our community. As lifelong members of the Indianapolis community, we are passionate and proud that our bees producehoneyfromour surrounding neighborhoodsforour neighbors. We will never take for granted the opportunity to keep our bees among our neighbor-customers and in the community we serve. All Garfield Honey’s hive products are natural, not processed. The bees make honey naturally sweet and nutritious. We bring forthhoneyas close to the way the bees produce it as we can. This means we never heat our honey to temperatures above what is found in the hive. Nor do we filter out any pollen or the 180 compounds that flowers and the bees put there for a reason. That way you can enjoy it in the same way the bees do. Our Bee Balmspersonal care products are equally natural and use only beeswax and plant-based oils and butters. We believe that how we do what we do matters every bit as much as what we do. We raise honey bees and produce ourhoneywithout cutting corners or rushing the process. We breed our own queens and grow our apiaries (beeyards) sustainably. We handcraft our all-natural Bee Balmspersonal care products. We understand that beekeeping is as much an art as science. We pass our knowledge on to willing beekeeping studentsand sellstarter coloniesto help carry on that tradition of beekeeping. Honey bees and other pollinators are under pressure and needour advocacy. That is why we speak out publicly in-person and thru social media on issues affecting these critical pollinator populations. Our customers’ generous support ofour productsmake our efforts in this regard possible.
