Dr. Cindy Ayers Elliott is CEO of Foot Print Farms, LLC,(2010), which is a 68-acre specialty crops, vegetables, and livestock farm, with a focus on agri-tourism for community development in the City of Jackson. Dedicated to growing an array of fruits and vegetables, raising meat goats, and cattle. She believes that planting seeds in the earth will grow fresh vegetables, however, planting a seed in the minds of young people will create a new universe of scholars. Cindy is the recipient of the Mississippi Business Journal Top 50 Businesswomen in Mississippi, Listed as Whos Who Among Black Americans, USDA Conservation Notes, Hinds County (publication: summer 2011,2012,2013, 2014), USDA/NRCS, National Success Farmer Story from Mississippi, and Established the 2nd Freedom School Summer Program in Washington County, Mississippi. A proud member of the George Washington Carver Future Scientist of America 4-H Club and recently presented with the Jackson State University College of Business Department of Entrepreneurship Women Entrepreneurs Award Honorees. Living every day to be a catalyst for change, Cindy was just awarded the Outstanding Minority Business of Central Mississippi from the Mississippi Minority Business Alliance, Inc., in October 2014 and elected chairman of the Hinds County Soil and Water Conservation District in September 2014. Cindy takes great pride in being a graduate of Thee Jackson State University, the proud mom of LaGrand and Eric Elliott, and the grandmother of Christian, Erica, Zoe, and Skylar Elliott. After working five years as CEO for Delta Foundation, Delta Enterprises in economic development in the Mississippi Delta, she also worked many years in New York as an investment banker. Cindy has traded in her high heels for a pair of work boots. She participates with the United States Department of Agriculture, and Natural Resources Conservation Service, (NRCS) to ensure her farm is productive and environmentally friendly. While she depends on her farms for sustenance, she also wants to use them as an educational tool for people not accustomed to new ways of Farming.
Dr. Cindy Ayers Elliott, an investment banker on Wall Street for nearly 30 years, returned to Jackson, Mississippi, to start Foot Print Farms in 2010. She aims to bring fresh food to the community and use the farm as an educational tool, believing that planting seeds in young minds creates a new universe of scholars. She participates with the USDA and Natural Resources Conservation Service to ensure her farm is productive and environmentally friendly. The farm is dedicated to growing an array of fruits and vegetables and raising meat goats and cattle, with a focus on agri-tourism for community development in Jackson, MS. Cindy is a recipient of numerous awards for her business and community work, including USA TODAY's Women of the Year 2023 for Mississippi and the Outstanding Minority Business of Central Mississippi in 2014. She is a graduate of Jackson State University and a proud mother and grandmother. She has traded her high heels for work boots and is committed to sustainable farming practices and community engagement. She also worked for many years in New York as an investment banker and five years as CEO for Delta Foundation, Delta Enterprises in economic development in the Mississippi Delta.
