Gluten-Free Ingredients Why We Choose to Farm In 2009, we left our full-time jobs and careers in other fields to focus on farming. Red Ridge Farmswas born from a desire to raise our children in a healthy environment and provide them with good, organic food. We are passionate about growing good food that hasn't traveled hundreds of miles to get to your dinner table. Along the way, we have developed a longing to educate our community about the importance of buying fresh food from local and sustainable farms. We bring an accumulated total of more than 50 years of experience in farming. For farm freshlocal products, trust none other than Flavor Market. We offer pastured pork, chicken, and beef, a wide selection of vegetables and fruits, and fresh products from our kitchen. Better yet, drop by our shop on 50 Hwy so you can see the quality of the food items we have to offer. We are open year round.  The store is open 7 days a week in the summer months. Why We Started Flavor Market While we stayed extremely busy on the farm, typically producing over 20,000 pounds of certified organic vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers from over 70 crops, we struggled with the more-than-full-time workload on the farm and the marketing it took to sell everything we grew direct to our customers. We noticed we could either do a great job growing, a great job selling, or a mediocre job of doing both. When the farmer has to sell every bunch of radishes their farm produces- that takes a lot of time away from farming. So we started to realize farmers needed supportive businesses willing and eager to sell what they grow. Most franchise grocery stores and restaurants only want to buy from 'the big guys'. They don't want to take time to purchase small amounts from small growers- so it is difficult to ever be anything but a mediocre small grower without this support. Our community is filled with farmers who are awesome at growing food- they just needed help with the marketing side of things. We decided to be that support for our farmer friends. Our store is placed to help our community with a hand-up and to make a difference in the local economy. Getting great food from great farmers to your kitchen. We are also active board members of the Kansas City Food Hub, creating wholesale solutions for farmers throughout Kansas City. We are located 1.5 miles east of Powell Gardens on the north side of 50 Hwy. PLEASE NOTE: Google Maps shows an incorrect location 3 miles too far east of our actual location.
