Produce Farm
Once home, we decided to become... soil farmers, and BOY did we have our work cut out for us! Years of soybean/corn rotation, heavy tilling, and chemical treatments had stripped life from the soil. But we knew that nurturing the soil instead of depleting it was the key to a vibrant farm ecosystem, so we set to work renewing the life under our feet. After two years of no-till practices and adding literal TONS of manure and compost to the ground we turned hard, rocky, lifeless dirt, into deep, rich, active soil. Our healthy soil allows for fewer inputs than conventional farms while still producing nutrient-dense food, and any inputs we do use are always organic-approved. We work with the soil and seasons to bring you the best tasting, healthy food in spring, summer, and fall. With The Wild Berry Farm produce you can feel good about what?s going into your body because 'you are what you eat' and what you eat is only as healthy as the environment it was grown in. So yes, we farm the soil to ensure the healthiest growing environment possible for bringing nutrient-dense veggies to you and your family.
