Floyd Dougherty, born in 1920, developed a love for farming. After serving in WWII, he and his wife Florence began farming rented ground, eventually purchasing a 177-acre grain and dairy farm in 1961. By 1968, Floyd transitioned from dairy to beef steers and started a fertilizer business. Today, David and Bruce Dougherty, along with their children Abby Nichols and Zach Dougherty, continue to farm, grow corn and soybeans, operate the crop protection business, and manage an Angus cow/calf operation that has grown into a freezer beef business.
