Located in Southeastern Montgomery County, Tennessee; Bee Attitudes Apiaries sells pure, local honey, bees’ wax, and propolis. Jason Groppel, apiarist and owner of Bee Attitudes also provides bees for those interested in apitherapy (bee stings). Here is some information about Bee Attitudes’ honey. -”Most beekeepers feed their bees High Fructose Corn Syrup and sugar water, but when I realized how those products might end up in the honey, I discontinued its use a several years ago. I do not use any pesticides nor medications in my hives, neither do I introduce any chemicals. I do not add anything to the honey. After removing the honey from the comb by use of a centrifugal-force extractor, it is finely filtered to remove bits of wax and then put into bottles with a safety seal and pour-spout. Many would call my honey organic, but there is no current, official method to classify honey as organic. The nectar that my bees collect comes from local wildflowers mainly during the Spring and early Summer, but also may include some Fall floral sources.” – Jason Groppel – Owner Bee Attitudes – Honey will never go bad or spoil, but all honey will eventually crystalize as it is a super-saturated solution. To re-liquify the honey, just put the bottle out in the sun on a hot day…or in a hot water bath (not boiling). Do NOT store honey in a cold location (like the refrigerator) as it will encourage crystallization. Also, do not add liquid to the honey as it will ferment. Honey should not be fed to infants under one year of age. – Honey’s hygroscopic (moisture absorbing) properties combined with a naturally integrated hydrogen peroxide by the bees makes it great for healing cuts and sores…especially for faster healing in diabetic skin lesions. Dot, a regular customer, says her doctor prescribed an expensive medication for her mouth ulcers, but the honey works as well or better and besides, it tastes much better…it is also MUCH less expensive than the medication. New scientific research proves that raw honey can treat what doctors call “untreatable wounds” by use of any antibiotics. Raw honey contains 13 lactic acid bacteria that help treat drug-resistant infections. Read the article / researchhere. – Honey is clinically proven to be a bettercough remedythan those available at the pharmacy, and is great for upset stomach. – “Many people, including myself, know how well honey helps with allergies. If I go without my honey for four or more days I become miserable with allergy symptoms that I will not describe in detail here, except that I get a worsening cough with sneezing, and stopped up ears. I squeeze out about a teaspoon of honey under my tongue each morning to allow the honey to get into my system more quickly.” – Jason Groppel A decrease in allergic reactions may differ by individual…some taking a week or some several weeks. Occasionally allergens blow in from other states which can also adversely affect those who suffer from allergies. – Bee Attitudes honey may contain other natural hive products that are known and proven to be healthful such as micro-pollen, propolis, and microscopic wax particles.
