The Huntsville Food & Farm Hub exists to invest in a resilient, sustainable local food system that supports small-scale farms and producers, provides convenient access to high-quality local food, and strengthens our community’s connection to the land, food, and people who nourish us. We believe knowing where your food comes from matters. investing in a resilient, sustainable local food system The food system in the United States is complex and often market access for small-scale producers can be challenging. At the same time, many households want to buy local food but struggle with limited access, inconsistent schedules, and fragmented options. By bringing food from dozens of local farms and producers into one online marketplace, the Hub makes it possible to shop local year-round in a way that fits into real schedules and supports producers fairly. When you buy from Huntsville-area farmers, you're not just purchasing food—you're investing in a cycle that strengthens our entire region. Studies show that buying local food has a multiplier effect of 1.4 to 2.6. This means that more dollars circulate in our region, and the faster it circulates, the more income and wealth it creates right here in North Alabama. The Huntsville Food & Farm Hub is owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Chris and Callie Enea. We believe regional agriculture can be a force for good. We’ve spent years frequenting farmers markets, growing our own food, and building community around shared meals. Our role is not to control the food system, but to build and maintain the infrastructure that allows local food to move from producers to customers more easily. We handle the coordination, logistics, and distribution so producers can focus on what they do best and customers can shop local without extra barriers. We’re here to highlight North Alabama food and to invite everyone to the table. At the heart of the Hub is a commitment to keeping producer voices central to how the marketplace operates. In 2026, we established a Producer Advisory Council made up of several of the Hub's producers. The council meets quarterly and has voting power on major decisions related to how the Hub operates and evolves. This structure ensures the Hub continues to reflect the needs, realities, and priorities of the producers who make it possible. In the first six months of operation, the Huntsville Food & Farm Hub returned over$96,000 directly to local producers. Every purchase through the Hub supports small-scale farms and food businesses within 100 miles of Huntsville and helps keep food dollars circulating locally. As the Hub grows, our goal remains the same: to provide a consistent, scalable marketplace that supports producers without asking them to lower their prices or take on additional risk. Whether you’re a customer, a producer, or a business interested in supporting local food, there are many ways to be part of the Hub. We’re glad you’re here and grateful to be building this alongside our community. 2026 © huntsville food & Farm Hub
