Nestled just under an hour from Columbus, in the quiet heart of Fredericktown, Ohio, you'll find our 140 acres of certified-organic pasture—once a thriving perennial polyculture, still chemical-free since 1991. Sweet Grass Dairy began with a shared passion for farming and a commitment to doing things differently. Jacob was raised around grass-based dairies and developed a strong belief in regenerative agriculture. While studying agricultural sciences in college, he realized the conventional model didn’t align with the values he witnessed growing up—values rooted in stewardship, sustainability, and integrity. Liz, with her own background in dairy farming, shared that vision. After meeting online, they started farming together and eventually founded Sweet Grass Dairy in 2013 with 50 organic cows and a clear purpose: to build a farm that honors God, raises animals ethically, and delivers nourishing food to the local community Today, Sweet Grass Dairy produces a full range of pasture-raised foods, including: Raw milk from 100% grass-fed, grass-finished cows Pasture-raised beef, pork, chicken, and eggs Handcrafted cheeses made with traditional methods Seasonal produce and other farm-fresh goods Our practices are built around regenerative agriculture—enhancing soil health, supporting biodiversity, and leaving the land better than we found it.
