A scholarship calculator can be found on theSB10 website. Yes, Sage is a Christian School whose student’s receive twenty five minutes of Bible instruction five days a week. Sage is not affiliated with a particular church or denomination. Student’s alternate classes in Science and Social Studies each semester due to the hour of daily Orton-Gillingham class. Sage School administers tests, both standardized and informal tests, to obtain a complete picture of each student’s abilities. These tests are completed both in the Fall and Spring. In the Orton-Gillingham tutorial, students are assessed with a battery of informal test to assess their language skills, and are then given specific, prescriptive goals. These tests include measure for in phonological awareness, letter sound recognition, passage reading and fluency, spelling, word reading and handwriting. Other standardized tests which are administered twice each year include the Gates-McGintie Reading Test and the GMADE (Group Mathematics Assessment and Diagnostic Evaluation). Additional reading, language and articulation testing measures that may be used as needed, including the WRAT, CTOPP, CELF-5, TOWL, etc. Lastly, Sage School administers the IOWA Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) to all students in the Spring. Our teachers are degreed professionals with outstanding credentials and love for children. All teachers hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, nearly 80% have master’s degrees, and 100% are OG trained. Additionally, all teachers have completed the rigorous Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators’ Associates level training course. Several have achieved Associates level certification while others are working toward the certification. Yes, school uniforms can be purchased through The Target Group. We require all shirts be purchased from this vendor. Uniform bottoms may be purchased from this vendor or other local retailers. Each Friday is school spirit day and students are encouraged to wear a spirit shirt with jeans or uniform bottoms. For the most part, yes. We have the same major holiday breaks. Sage School does NOT automatically close when Gwinnett County Schools are closed. Sage’s closing information will be announced on WSB and you will receive a Renweb parent alert. The decision to close or delay will be made before 6 a.m. Weather conditions at the student’s home may be drastically different than in Suwanee. Safety of our students and families is of the utmost importance to Sage. Therefore, an excused absence will be given if the schools in the county where the student lives are closed. Students participate in weekly or bi-weekly enrichment classes in physical education, technology, STEAM, art and drama. Elementary students have two hours of recess each week.
